Introducing the MetaReality Project

June 11, 2009 by Lynn Neuman

A Filipino American contemporary dance initiative, the Metareality Project investigates possibilities of facilitating a new reality in the human body.

Humanity has found itself again in a time of great tension about to cross another threshold as we anxiously navigate into the 21st century’s new reality. Ringing across continents are survival words like multilateralism, co-existence, new habits of cooperation, simultaneity, and non locality. If we are serious in transcending obsolete attitudes of extremism we need to begin to ponder how the human body can process and embody these approaches to a new reality.

Begun by Jose Jay B. Cruz and Lynn Neuman this project connects artists of various media to address issues of boundaries, perceptions and territories in the political, social, ideological and personal realms.

Below Jay and Lynn briefly discuss ideas prior to the first work-in-progress showing.
